FLASH POLL RESULTS

NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW

AI use by kids has skyrocketed over the last six months 🚀

Kids are diving into AI —and not just for schoolwork— according to two studies that were both released this month.

These studies show a remarkable surge in weekly AI use.

The first study from Hopelab, Common Sense Media, and Harvard’s Center for Digital Thriving, featured research compiled from surveys taken last fall.

At that time, only 11% of teens reported to use AI weekly.

But a second study, led by Impact Research for the Walton Family Foundation, called on surveys that were completed last month, (only six months after the initial survey).

Weekly AI use in teens jumped to 49%. 🤯

I predict that number will rise to above 80% by the end of the year.

In the first survey from last fall, kids were mainly using AI to seek information and brainstorm, but the second survey revealed that kids are currently using it for writing assignments and study aids.

There’s always a positive and a negative impact when it comes to transformative technology.

The most important thing to remember is that dismissing AI will not make it go away.

Here are a few Prequel resources to help you tackle talking with your teen about AI:
